Frequently Asked Questions

I provide outpatient psychiatric care via telehealth to children, adolescents, and adults throughout Washington State. Whether you're seeking support for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, or need ongoing medication management for complex mental health conditions, Rooted Minds Psychiatry offers personalized, evidence-based care.
-
Absolutely. I specialize in medication management for psychiatric conditions. Medication recommendations are always made collaboratively, taking into account your unique symptoms, treatment goals, and personal preferences. Ongoing monitoring and follow-up appointments ensure your medication remains safe and effective as your needs evolve.
-
Yes. In Washington State, adolescents aged 13 and older have the legal right to consent to their own mental health treatment, including psychiatric evaluation and medication management. I honor this autonomy and can provide care to teens without parental consent or notification. That said, I also recognize the value of family support when it's helpful and appropriate. I work collaboratively with each adolescent to determine what level of family involvement feels right for them—whether that's including parents fully in treatment, keeping care private, or finding a balance in between. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where young people can access the mental health care they need while honoring their developing independence and decision-making capacity.
-
Absolutely. I offer comprehensive ADHD evaluations across all ages—children, teens, and adults. The evaluation process includes an in-depth clinical interview, careful review of developmental and medical history, evidence-based screening tools, and collaboration with family members or schools when helpful to ensure an accurate assessment.

At Rooted Minds Psychiatry, I focus on psychiatric assessment and medication management. Therapeutic discussions are woven into our appointments, and I frequently collaborate with therapists to ensure you receive well-rounded care when talk therapy would enhance your treatment plan.

While I don't take insurance directly at this time, I'm happy to provide you with itemized receipts and superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients find they're able to receive partial or full reimbursement depending on their plan. I recommend checking with your insurance provider about your out-of-network benefits.
