Young Adults
The years between 18 and 25 are supposed to feel like freedom. Sometimes they do. And sometimes they feel like everyone else got a manual you never received.
What I Help With
New city. New expectations. A version of yourself you're still figuring out. This is one of the most psychologically intense periods of a person's life — and one of the most underserved. Young adults fall through the cracks between pediatric and adult care, and often wait until things get loud before asking for help. I work with young adults dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood swings, and the kind of stress that builds until it breaks something. New diagnoses, old ones that need a fresh approach, and everything in between.

Anxiety and depression can affect energy, motivation, sleep, concentration, and relationships, often making daily life feel heavier or more overwhelming. At Rooted Minds Psychiatry, care focuses on understanding each person’s experience and building a treatment plan that supports emotional balance and daily functioning. Through thoughtful evaluation, medication management when helpful, and collaboration with therapy and support systems, our goal is to help individuals feel more like themselves again and regain a sense of hope and stability.

Experiences of trauma can continue to affect emotional and physical wellbeing long after the event has passed, sometimes showing up as anxiety, sleep changes, emotional reactivity, or feeling constantly on edge. At Rooted Minds Psychiatry, care is trauma-informed and paced with compassion, helping individuals feel safe while building tools that support healing, stability, and recovery. Collaboration with therapists and other supports is encouraged to create a comprehensive path forward.

Mood concerns can show up in many ways, including irritability, emotional ups and downs, low motivation, or difficulty regulating emotions. These changes can impact work, school, and relationships, and may feel confusing or discouraging. Care at Rooted Minds Psychiatry focuses on understanding mood patterns and identifying supports and treatments that help individuals achieve greater emotional steadiness and resilience over time.

Medication can be an important part of treatment for many individuals, but it works best when paired with ongoing collaboration and careful monitoring. At Rooted Minds Psychiatry, medication management includes regular follow-up, adjustments as needed, and open conversations about benefits, side effects, and personal goals. Treatment decisions are always collaborative, with the aim of supporting long-term stability and overall wellbeing.
